Have you ever wondered how someone people’s computer background seems so much nicer than yours? Do you wonder where they got their background? If so you’re in luck! Although desktop wallpapers don’t serve any real significance in terms of functionality for your computer, they help spice up bland desktops. This article will give you some general information on computer desktop wallpapers.

As mentioned, desktop wallpapers don’t serve any purpose for your computer other than making it look nicer. There are three main ways to get nice looking wallpapers for your desktop. The first involves making it yourself. If you have a graphic design program like Fireworks or Photoshop, and know how to use them, you can create your own wallpaper. This option is primarily for people who have advanced knowledge in graphics design.

The second way to get wallpapers is by buying them online. There are a number of good websites that offer thousands of desktop wallpapers, for a price. These sites will offer you a preview of the wallpapers, but won’t let you use them in their full size unless you pay for them. I wouldn’t recommend this option simply due to the fact that you’re paying for something that has little to no real use. However, if you don’t mind paying for this kind of material, then by all means go out and buy your wallpapers!

The third option is the most common. This involves searching the internet for websites that offer free desktop wallpapers. There are plenty of such sites on the Internet and it is up to you to find them! A word of caution before you start however…Some sites will try tricking you into paying for the wallpapers. Once you have found a good site that offers free wallpapers, I suggest you add them to your favorites for future reference. This will come in handy when you get bored of your current wallpaper and want to replace it. Although there are thousands of great free wallpapers, make sure you are not infringing on any copyright materials. Make sure you have the rights to use the wallpaper for your own personal use to avoid potential legal trouble.

It is in my opinion that the pay sites for wallpapers generally have better looking wallpapers than the free sites. Having said that, there are enough great free desktop wallpapers to last you for years. For most people, the free websites should be good enough. Simply logon to your favorite search engine and search, search, and search!
